- Free of inclusions: Even under 10x magnification no inclusions become visible
- Very Lightly Included: Only a pro with a lens might find an inclusion, but maybe not.
- Lightly Included: Inclusions are visible under a 10x magnification but rarely with the unaided eye
- Moderately Included: One might see inclusions with the naked eye, but they should not dominate the stone
- Heavily Included: Inclusions are clearly visible and influence the stone's appearance
- Excessively Included: A stone might not be durable.

Color in diamonds has two sources: irradiation (usually by alpha particles), that causes the color in green diamonds; and physical deformation of the diamond crystal known as plastic deformation. Plastic deformation is the cause of color in some brown and perhaps pink and red diamonds. In order of rarity, white diamonds, are by far the most common, and are followed by yellow and brown, then it’s blue, green, black, translucent white, pink, violet, orange, purple, and the rarest color is red. "Black", or Carbonado, diamonds are not truly black, but rather contain numerous dark inclusions that give the gems their dark appearance. Colored diamonds contain impurities or structural defects that cause the coloration, while pure or nearly pure diamonds are transparent and colorless.

It takes center stage in the classic engagement ring – a round, solitaire diamond set either in yellow gold or platinum. Shapes other than round are called fancy shapes. There are many different round brilliant diamond cuts from the ideal cut diamond such as the 58 facets - to the patented and even 66-facet Leo Diamond cut.

18K also know as 750 because it is 75% pure gold. 18K is relatively the purest form of gold that we can use to manufacture quality diamond jewelry. An advantage of 18k is that it catches rhodium better then lower grades of gold. This gives 18K gold a much nicer white luster at first; but unfortunately when rhodium wears off 18K white gold is left looking yellowish and dull. However with yellow gold, 18k will retain the most high quality gold luster possible to practically use with diamond jewelry forever. 18k is heavy, precious, soft and should mostly be used in jewelry generally under 20 grams.
