The hardest of these is the hand-setting which can be done on almost any metal surface. This hand setting takes years to learn and even longer to perfect, but once mastered it is one of the most impressive settings out there. Best used on icing out almost anything that has not been originally designated for diamond setting such as sides of diamond watches, bands, rings and almost anything with a thick metal surface. For custom work Pave is the setting of choice.

Stainless steel should not be underestimated in jewelry manufacturing. Although it is not considered a precious metal it’s sturdy and will not tarnish like some semi-precious metals such as silver. One thing that should be noted about stainless steel is that it cannot be cast. In order for it to be made into jewelry, such as a ring or watch, it has to be cut into that specific shape; making this a very complicated process that takes expensive machinery. What this means is that if you want to make a piece of jewelry in stainless steel, you have to be ready to make it in huge quantities in order for the production to be worth while. Currently we mostly use stainless steel for watches but are ready to expand its use to bracelets and even some form of gemstone jewelry.

Does it use a clasp (instead of the holes you see in many rubber watches). If so, how do you adjust the band size (since it doesn't have links that you see in steel bands)? Also, is this waterproof/water-resistant?

We would never recommend that you take a piece of diamond jewelry into the water - regardless if the watch or piece states it is waterproof or water-resistant. If the piece has been altered or modified - such as having diamonds added onto it - we would not advise taking it into the water. The band is adjustable, you have to open the clasp and place the needle in the correct hole that properly fits his or her's wrist size. If you have any other questions please let us know, thank you!
