Choose the piece first, then fit it to your chain. Most of what sells here is a piece of faith, a small cross or a Jesus piece worn every day, and about three in four orders are for a pendant under an inch wide. Take 14K for a piece that never comes off. A big piece hangs over the shirt and needs a chain with solid links, so ask the desk whether its bail clears your chain before you pay.
Motif: Jesus pieces, crosses, crucifixes, saints, initials, lions and custom gold pendants
Start with faith, most of what sells here. Crosses, Jesus pieces, crucifixes and saints make up close to three in ten of the page. They bring in nearly six in ten of the sales. The plain cross leads, about a third of the sales, and the 14K mini diamond cross is the piece ordered most. Past faith come custom one-offs, initials and names, animals with the lion first, and photo pendants.
Size and weight: how big a men's gold pendant is in inches, and how many grams
Buy under an inch wide for a pendant you wear daily. About three in four orders here were for one that small. The middle pendant on the page is an inch and a quarter across. A large one runs about three inches long and sits over the shirt.
More than half the orders here were for a piece under 5 grams. The middle listing weighs about 20 grams as listed, and a large piece goes past 50.
Metal: 10K or 14K gold pendant, yellow, white or rose
Take 14K for a pendant that stays on. Nearly eight in ten listings are 14K, and it carried most of the sales. 10K is gold too, with less pure gold in it. 18K and 22K are here for a deeper yellow.
Nearly every color menu offers the three golds, yellow, white and rose. Of the pendants for sale, all but three are gold on record: one is brass, one .925 silver, one gold and silver. For the finish on a white piece, ask the desk.
The chain: what chain and length a gold pendant hangs on, the bail, pendant sets
Hang it on a chain the bail clears. No listing prints its bail's opening, so send the desk your chain's width before you pay. The men's pendants guide has the rule for which chain carries which weight.
About one listing in twenty is a set with its chain. Where a set names its chain, it is most often a Cuban or a moon cut chain. Not every set says whether its grams include the chain, so check with us. A jeweler quotes any change of length, and an altered chain is final sale.
Buying: custom gold pendants, diamonds, shipping and returns
For a piece to your own design, go to custom pendants, or to custom name pendants for a name in gold. About half the page is marked custom already. About three in four listings are diamond pieces, and the diamond pendants page gathers them. Nearly all print natural or lab-grown on the origin line, so ask only whether yours is in stock.
A gold piece can go back within fourteen calendar days of confirmed delivery, new, unworn and unaltered, on a label we issue; custom work, anything made or modified for you, and coins and bullion sit outside that return, and the refund policy takes off the 5% restocking fee, and the return shipping when we prepaid the label. Before a return, or for what a listing leaves out, open the live chat; calls and texts to the desk on 212-872-9692 reach a person from 10 AM ET.
